The Concept
Momme = the weight of silk fabric
Silk is measured in momme (pronounced "mommy") — grams per square metre adjusted for silk's unique density. Just like GSM tells you a fabric's weight, momme tells you a silk's. Lower momme = sheer and airy. Higher momme = dense and luxurious.

How to Use This in Your Store
Your Brand Edge
When a customer asks why one silk costs more than another, name the species and the why. The MRP doesn't have to be defended — the story behind it does. Customers don't negotiate when they understand what they're actually buying.
"This is Muga — it only grows in Assam, and the cocoon makes its own natural gold colour. This is Tussar — wild silk from forest cocoons; the slubby texture is the silkworm's signature, not a defect. Same family, very different stories."
